Abstract
In this article, Lei Lei reflects on the creative significance of the “voice over” in moving image practice. Drawing from personal experience and artistic experimentation, Lei Lei examines how off-screen voices mediate the relationship between image, memory, and narrative. He argues that the voice over not only supplements visual material but also destabilizes fixed meanings, allowing for the coexistence of multiple temporalities and subjectivities in the cinematic space.
