Apart from filmmaking, many Chinese independent filmmakers also write about their filmmaking, as well as poems, essays, fiction and non-fiction books. CIFA collects and publishes their previously unpublished works, published but uncensored version, or published but updated version on our official website. Filmmakers’ writing and films complement each other, and more comprehensively present their reflections on their creative works and their perceptions of the time and the society in which they are living, writing and making films.
