Synopsis

Starting from 2011, I picked up a camera and returned to the village where I was born and raised. I approached my ancestors, capturing their lives and listening to their lifelong experiences. Most of them are over 60 years old and shared their stories of the "Three Years of Famine" from 1959 to 1961. What is most unforgettable is witnessing the deaths of their parents, siblings, and neighbors due to starvation, including my great-grandfather, who was my paternal grandfather's father. Through the narratives they shared, I contemplated changes in the past, future, and the realities of life. Erecting a memorial became my aspiration for this year.
