A Yangtze Landscape
Xu Xin
Release year: 2017
Run time: 156 mins
Film type: Documentary
Synopsis
A Yangtze Landscape utilizes a non-narrative style to film thousands of kilometres along the river from the port of Shanghai to Qinghai/Tibet. Experimental music and location sound were added in post-production to create a magical realist film in which the environment contrasts with the decorative figures of people, as in traditional Chinese landscape scrolls.
