Synopsis
In 1966, the Cultural Revolution of China began. In 1986, the performers who participated in this artistic work were born. In 2006... When the Great Cultural Revolution has become cultural consumption since it took place forty years ago, we wonder if the young generation born in the later 1980s really has no relevance to the Revolution as it appears. Through their body language and the camera, the dancers try to find out the reason why Chinese youth fail to comprehend the history of their own nation.
Director biography
He graduated from the Fine Arts Education Department of Shandong Art Academy, specializing in sculpture. In 1997, he founded The Physical Guerrillas, a group engaged in the creation of physical theatre and live performance art, performed at home and abroad.
As an artist, he has created a large number of theatre and film works, many of which have become classics of contemporary Chinese physical theatre and video art, and he is also recognized as a representative of these two fields.
