We welcome donations of Chinese independent films, film footage, videos, posters, booklets, books, photos, documents, artefacts and other related materials. Materials which can illuminate the development of Chinese independent film culture will be prioritised. Your contribution is greatly appreciated. Here are some guidelines for donations.
Films, Videos, Footage
Wherever possible, please provide the following materials and information:
- The highest resolution of the digital copies that you have in mp4 or mov format. If your films/videos/footage are in 35mm, 16mm, 9.5mm, 8mm, videotape, digibeta or VHS, please convert them to mp4 or mov. If you need support for this, please contact us.
- For films, please include both Chinese and English subtitles
- Titles of works in both Chinese and English
- The dates that these works were made
- Director’s photo, biography and filmmaking statement in both Chinese and English, if available
- Film synopsis or a brief description of the content of the material in both Chinese and English
- Film posters and stills in digital formats and with good resolution

Photos
Wherever possible, please provide the following information:
- A description of the photo, such as the occasion, the place, and the names of the people in it
- Names of individuals or institutions that the photos should be credited to
- The dates when these photos were taken

Documents, Booklets, Books
Wherever possible, please provide the following information:
- Original copies or digitalised copies
- The names of individuals or institutions who are making the donation
- A brief description of the content, such as relevant dates, names and occasions
